I have a friend from Australia who bought his D80 and his D300 in the USA and they seem to work fine.

I have a few photography friends in AU and NZ and we have never discussed any compatibility issues, so I don't think there is a problem. They've sent me photos that I open with no problem and vice versa.

It'll work fine.

You'll need an adapter for the battery charger because the voltage and pin type is different.

The focusing ring from the Australian cameras turn in the opposite direction then one from the USA. ; )

Don't take this seriously.

If it's used , outside the warranty period and he packs it well.. fine.

But if it's new just be aware that the warranty may require you to send it overseas to be fixed it you run into trouble.

If it's new, you are better off buying one from an Australian dealer that offers an Australian warranty

It will work fine but if the proce is over the threshold it may get picked up by customs and you will have to pay gst on it but i am not sure what the proce threshold is. you will also need an australian charger, so i think it would be better and easier to just get one in australia
